When my son Michael was in middle school he took wood shop - the teacher, Duane Calkins, has a very special program called Wood Shop Rocks. In this class students actually build a working electric guitar from scratch! I wish my 9th grade wood shop did that! I was able to help out in this class lending my wiring and soldering experience to help get that portion of the guitars completed for the kids who did not want to learn that. My son is long since out of school but I continue to help Duane in this amazing class - check them out at woodshoprocks.com
